From a young age, I always knew I wanted to be in entertainment journalism. Growing up with family in the business, I was able to experience all the cool things that happen behind-the-scenes on movie sets and thought it would be amazing to tell those stories to an audience who had never experienced it.
I started off in print journalism writing in my summer camp newspaper to eventually becoming the entertainment editor of my high school paper. I would watch Entertainment Tonight religiously and dream about being a reporter for them. That's when I knew there was only one college for me with an amazing broadcast journalism department - The University of Southern California.
At USC, I worked for Annenberg TV News where I learned everything about creating my own package. I learned how to write, shoot, edit, and host. Before I even graduated college, I was featured on Access Hollywood interviewing Rita Wilson and Nia Vardalos on the set of the TV show "My Big Fat Greek Life." Nancy O'Dell took me under her wing and taught me the ins and outs of being a celebrity journalist.
After graduating from USC in 2003 with a degree in broadcast journalism, I landed a job with Orange County TV as their entertainment reporter covering everything from charity events to the X-Games to the Academy Awards. I've worked as a freelance producer and host for WireImage Video, The Associated Press, EXTRA, E! News Now, YoungHollywood.com and many more.
In 2010 I decided to try my hand at YouTube. My friend Kristen Turner and I launched a fashion vlog called “Vainglorious.” We posted a new vlog weekly that talked about trends, do-it-yourself projects, and how to get high fashion at a lower price. With the help of Next New Networks, our show quickly garnered a following. In just a few short months, the show collected over 20,000 subscribers on YouTube and landed us a sponsorship with L’Oreal Paris.
For the past 10 years, I have worked for CelebrityFootage where I get to edit on a daily basis. I have produced and edited sizzle reels and EPKs for Paramount, Warner Bros., Activision, and the TCL Chinese Theatre just to name a few. In my spare time, I love to focus on community impact stories for The Voluntourist. It has been a great way to shine a spotlight on amazing people making a difference in this world.
Since the pandemic hit, I have been editing casting reels for Bunim-Murray Productions on the shows Iyanla: Fix My Life and Family or Fiancé. It has been fun dipping into the world of casting and showcasing my storytelling skills.
In August of 2022, I was contracted by NETFLIX to be a creative content specialist for their awards team. I helped produce featurettes, manage awards show assets, handle photographers and video crews at special Tastemaker screenings, and ultimately had a hand in helping Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio and All Quiet on the Western Front win multiple Oscars in what was a very successful awards season.
Being able to write, produce, edit and host stories are skills not many people have and with this ability, there’s no stopping what I can do!
